PIKA’s GSM Module
The GSM module from PIKA responds to the WARP Appliance for Asterisk®. It has two GSM channels and uses two externally accessible SIM cards.
FXO – Foreign Exchange Office Interface, FXS – Foreign Exchange Subscriber Interface and BRI – Basic Rate Interface, are expansion modules that work combined with the GSM module.
Why so special?
Saving time – users receive a SMS message every time a new voicemail arrives.
Cost savings with Least Cost Routing (LCR) - a prefix is configured for the FreePBX dial plan that routes calls placed from a SIP or analog device over a GSM trunk. These connections between different types of landlines and GSM or between different GSM networks are, normally, very expensive.
Remote and Temporary Installations – great option when traditional telephone are not available or have extended installation intervals.
Back-up – GSM can replace a landline network going down and can be used as a cost-effective back-up.
Land Line Displacement – a choice for wireless carriers building incremental traffic for their business.
